Heroes Of Loot Strategy guide 1.0

So, i'll be doing a strategy guide for the game by orange pixel...

Heroes Of Loot

Characters:

Elf  S-4
      M-3
      X-4
the elf is a solid all around character. his biggest strengths are range and speed, and his weapons level up quickly. i'd say he's right behind the warrior with the most potential when starting out.

Warrior S-5
              M-2
               X-3
the warrior is possibly the best character in the game, his stats leave you wondering from the first moment, but he has high resistance to damage, and he deals damage the best. he's kind of slow, which is his downside, but at later levels, speed isn't rewarded anyways. it takes 5 levels to change weapons, but by level 5, he's almost unstoppable.

Wizard S-3
             M-5
             X-4
The Wizard is definitely a fun character to play, his lvl 8 energy blast is impressive. when starting out, he's a slow mover, and he's dependent on runes. his attack is slow so you'll want to hug the corners if you're trying to level him up, more on that later.

Valkyrie S-2
               M-5
               X-5
the valkyrie levels up insanely fast. she's great in combination with a warrior, or, if you've unlocked him, a barbarian.she moves fast, does great spell damage, but takes a little while before her regular attack is very effective.

Barbarian: you'll find out when you hit level 30.

Tips:
Hug corners and slow down, you can trap the cyclops and other higher level monsters if you get it just right. they'll get hung on a corner where you can hit them, and they can't hit you. the number one thing that puts an early end to your game is running into a situation you can't handle, so pace is everything. save runes for crossing into new territories, when you enter a doorway, sometimes you're surrounded, and these come in handy. if using 2 players, have one person lead and the other follow, it keeps the screen centered, and keeps you from getting split up, and getting eachother killed.

Items:

Health Potions/hearts: these give you health, one time use, and you can't store them for later, so use them carefully and leave them on the ground if you have another area to clear and you have full health.

Gems: they're part of your loot/experience. important but not worth risking your life to grab some.

Lens of Truth: this helps you to see hidden deposits of some of the best items in the game, i'd highly recommend getting one if you run into one in a shop, or a tiny dungeon.

Invisibility cloak: this prevents ranged attacking monsters from attacking you, which is especially helpful against imps, purple dudes, and the ultimate monsters.

Cup of Life: allows you to fill up on health from wells. hopefully you'll find one in a shop, tiny dungeon, or get it during a quest. its a great item that can help you get through a lot of the tougher levels. remember to clear out well areas early into a level, so that you can come back to them if necessary.

Shields: there's metal, titanium, and wooden shields, all of which are there to prevent damage temporarily from reaching your health bar. if you're low on health, grab one of these so you can refill the health bar, though you can't see it, while using it to clear out some rooms.

Gameplay:

So, you'll start out at a relatively low difficulty level, with a few ghosts to kill, these first few rounds are the easiest time to make it all the way to level 30 and unlock the barbarian, if, of course, you're awesome. once you've run through to level 20 or so a couple of times, the difficulty will turn up to maximum. and stay there. forever. this is good because you get a ton of experience early on, which you also desperately need. this is bad because sometimes you spawn into a situation you can't handle, and you're level one. good lord. this can be problematic. after running through the game a couple more times, you'll unlock the unique items for each character. which are incredibly helpful. they allow to PERMANENTLY level your characters, for every 6 items you acquire. also, if you make it to level 35, you'll get an item called the ring of time? i think. and it levels up all characters to level 2. these do add on to eachother. (ring of time plus unique item level can start you at level 3,4, etc.)

Pitfalls/glitches:
sometimes you spawn into a tiny dungeon with 3 fire breather ultimate bosses. you will die, and your game will end. unless you're a high level character with a fire rune and some serious defenses.

2 Player: you'll always start as level one if you're player 2. its not ideal, but the co-op version is not as complete i suppose. also, you can't find character items (feathers, helmets, etc.) the worst is where one of the characters dies, but the screen locks and you can't leave the area of the grave. I don't know of any way to fix this. you cannot stop and continue a 2 player co-op game, once you're out, its over. keep this in mind as well.

Sometimes really crazy monsters will spawn directly on top of you, if you're at least level 5, you can normally survive it as long as you run and don't look back.

Overall i've spent several hours playing this game, and its pretty amazing considering its a tiny little dungeon crawler. me and a buddy of mine play it on the ouya gaming console, which is awesome, and available at your local target.
